Computer 101
Prerequisite for most courses except for those students with 1 solid year of computer work. Learn how to use the mouse (left and right buttons and scroll wheel), Keyboard: Insert, delete, print screen, page up/page down, arrow keys, symbols, cap lock, Enter and F keys. A basic ability to type is required. Creating and deleting Folders, putting folders on the desktop or in My Documents, filing objects in Folders, finding lost folders or objects using 'Find', comfort with 'cut and paste', 'Save' and 'Save as' and other tool bar functions, using Word Pad and other features covered in the course.

Next Steps
Students will learn to personalize the computer, change views, use keyboard shortcuts, and learn about file sharing, getting help or support. They will manage the control panel, do backups, and install updates. Virus protection, and file structure, and typing skills will be covered. Also, learn about the fun stuff -- sample interesting videos, old TV shows, Nova nature programming. Access the town web, sign up for Netflix, watch your computer streams on your flat panel TV screen. Two sessions: $25. Instructor - Dick Kraycir

Beginning Internet/Email
You need to have an Internet service provider or plan to use the computers at the library or an Internet Café to access the Internet. Class will cover doing research, shopping, downloading pictures and information, reading news around the world, download forms from locations e.g. the IRS, Brokers, Banks etc.; write and read eMail, putting pictures in your email, giving email a unique look using stationary.

New Digital Camera User
You have the digital camera. Now what do you do? Learn how to operate your camera, what your options are after you've taken photos and perhaps some photo-taking tips, too! When you register, please tell us the make and model of your of camera. Bring your camera, manual and charged batteries to both classes.

Camera To Print and Everything Between
A short class to help you download those pictures that are in your digital camera onto your computer and begin to manipulate them. Will include setting up picture files, improving images (cropping, fixing flaws, etc.), attaching photos to email, printing and burning to a disk. Google Picasa Image Editor will be used (available free).

Learn how to connect to Wi-Fi networks with your laptop, iPad, or smart phone easily and safely. Two sessions. $25

Setting Up Your Home Network
What you can do with your home network and how to do it. Beginning Network recommended as a prerequisite. Two sessions. $25

Beginning iPad (iPhone, iPod Touch):
After taking home the magical tablet, learn how do turn it on and off, charge the battery, use the touch screen gestures, get your contacts and calendar in synch, download the must-have apps, and so much more. Two sessions. $25

Powerful Presentations
How to use Power Point to create interesting presentations to share with family. friends, or organizations. Photos, sound, video, and special effects will be covered. Two sessions. $25

Keeping in Touch with the Family
Email, video chatting, photo sharing, Skype, social networking, and text chat. Three sessions. $35

Web Presence
Creating a Simple Website Using simple inexpensive software, that requires no knowledge of HTML, to create a simple website for your business or organization. Three sessions. $35

Google Apps
Working and Playing in the Cloud With new desktop applications, Google offers bells and whistles that may change the way we communicate. Demos of Search, Google Docs, Fusion Data, Translate, Picassa, Gmail and Groups, Google + and Hangouts, Google Talk, Google Phone, and You Tube will be covered. One session. $20.

Everything Is on the Internet
How to find information on any topic. For example, if you get an error message when you are updating your iTunes, how to find out what it means and get it fixed. Lost your camera manual and need to get a replacement? Learn how to polish brass, or check if the latest virus scare a friend sent via email is real or fiction. It's all on the Internet and the Team will present examples of useful ways to find the answers to your questions.
